The Annual FCM Conference and Trade Show had yet another successful turnout. Leaders from municipalities across Canada gathered online and in person at the Viterra International Trade Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, to reconnect with other delegates and share their achievements, their newly acquired knowledge, and their recent challenges. Over 2000 mayors, councillors, and representatives from all corners of the country participated in the four-day event through various workshops, keynotes, and discussions. Delegates also had the chance to circle the trade show floor and visit exhibits offering different solutions to common municipal problems. Here are three interesting exhibits that were at the conference.
Eco-Growth:
Eco-Growth Environmental Inc. is bringing 'a new perspective to waste' with their waste to energy technology. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Eco Growth's goal is to help reduce our carbon footprint through the diversion of organic waste from landfills. Further carbon reductions are achieved by transforming organic wastes into a clean carbon-neutral energy. With their unique, rapid dehydration technology, they are able to convert organic landfill waste into a useable material which can be returned to soil or upcycled as a biomass feedstock. With the company's compact gasification system, biomass feedstocks can be converted to thermal energy for use in water or air heating. Many municipalities are working to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, which involves accounting for all scopes of carbon. Eco-Growth technology is designed to reduce scope 3 emissions, which is the largest of the scopes of carbon.

Propulso:
Propulso, which was publicly launched in 2017, presents the solution to optimizing consumer data by breaking the barrier between the digital and the physical world. By offering anonymous geolocation and geomarketing data, Propulso makes it possible to analyze people's behaviours. This analysis allows users to understand consumer habits and help them achieve better-tailored marketing and advertisement campaigns based on the physical movements of consumers. Propulso's unique self-service platform allows any user to create, edit, and analyze their campaign in real-time. As a result, Propulso opens up a world of new opportunities for municipalities, businesses, and agencies by providing them with the help and tools to analyze, develop, and communicate more effectively.
Silversmith Data:
Silversmith Data is changing the game for asset management software solutions through its unique business approach. With more than 25 years of experience, Silversmith Data has assisted companies and municipalities of various sizes across Canada and the United States in implementing their user-friendly Asset Management Software, AST (Asset Status Tracker). Unlike most competitors who offer asset management software for a set price, Silversmith Data provides affordable and flexible pricing based on the location's population. By doing so, they can provide a cost-effective entryway for even the smallest towns and villages, which are often unable to access asset data management due to size. According to Mike Rose, their Canadian District Manager, the company has serviced rural areas as small as 280 people and cities exceeding 80,000 people. Their user-friendly software, 24/7 user support, and pricing have made the maintenance, mapping, and management of data assets both affordable and easy to use for all municipalities of all sizes.
